An overflowing mailbox is the clearest possible announcement that nobody is home.
Mail does two bad things when a house is empty. It advertises the vacancy from the sidewalk, and it buries the one letter that actually needed a response — a renewal, a levy, an assessment, a notice with a deadline attached.
The service is straightforward and runs on your instructions. Mail is collected from the box or community mailbox where you have authorised it, brought inside, and placed where you asked. Parcels are brought in from the step. Flyers and junk are removed so the entry stays clean. You are notified when something arrives that matches what you told us to watch for.
Privacy is handled carefully here, because it has to be. Mail is not opened, ever. Envelope exteriors are photographed only when you have specifically asked for that. Photographs of correspondence are never included in SMS notifications or general reports — they go to you and nowhere else. And redirection is a Canada Post service that only you can arrange; nobody else can set it up on your behalf.

Does an empty house attract break-ins?
An empty house that visibly looks empty does. An empty house that does not look empty is a much less interesting proposition.
Properties are generally selected on visible cues rather than any knowledge of who lives there: accumulated mail and flyers, an uncleared walk after a snowfall, unchanging or absent lighting, no vehicle, blinds in the same position for weeks, and untended grass. Every one of those is removable.
The practical countermeasures are unglamorous and effective. Mail collected and flyers cleared. Walks cleared within a day of snowfall. Grass cut. Bins out and back on collection day. Lighting on varied timers rather than one lamp on a fixed cycle. Blinds moved. Visits at irregular times rather than the same hour every week.
One more thing worth checking: many policies restrict or exclude vandalism and theft coverage once a property has been vacant beyond a defined period. If that applies to your situation, the loss may not respond the way you assume. Ask your broker.
