Privacy notice
This service enters people's homes, photographs the inside of them, and holds the codes that open the doors. The privacy position needs to be more careful than a typical website's, and this page tries to be.
Who this applies to
This notice describes how AINT.APP Corp handles personal information in connection with VacantHomes.ca and the property-care services described on it. It is written with reference to Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What is collected through this website
Only what you type into a form. The booking form and the request form collect your name, email address, optional phone number, the property address, and the details you choose to give about the property and what it needs.
This site sets no analytics cookies, loads no third-party scripts, embeds no fonts, maps, videos or social widgets, and makes no requests to any external host. There is no tracking pixel and no advertising identifier. That is enforced by a content security policy rather than by intention.
Property access credentials
Alarm codes, lockbox codes, smart-lock credentials, key locations and entry instructions are treated as the most sensitive category of information this service handles, and they are governed by stricter rules than anything else:
- They are never collected through this website. The booking form deliberately does not ask.
- They are held separately from ordinary property records.
- They are released only to the person attending a specific visit, for that visit.
- They never appear in visit reports, notifications, emails or general records.
- Every access to a property is logged: who, when, why, and how it was secured.
- They are deleted or the property is re-keyed when an engagement ends.
Photographs and video taken at your property
Visits produce photographs and sometimes video of the interior and exterior of your property. These are collected to document the condition of the property and are used for that purpose only.
- They are provided to you and to anyone you authorise in writing.
- They are not published, used in marketing, or shown to anyone else without your specific written consent.
- Where a contractor needs to see an image to quote or perform work, only the relevant image is shared.
- Photographs of correspondence, where you have specifically requested them, are sent only to you and are never included in SMS notifications or general reports.
If other people’s belongings or information are visible in a property — an estate, a rental, a shared property — that is handled with the same restriction.
Mail collected on your instruction is brought inside and placed where you have asked. It is never opened, and its contents are never read, described or photographed. Envelope exteriors are photographed only where you have specifically requested it. Mail redirection is a Canada Post service that only you can arrange.
Why information is collected

- To deliver the services you engage
- To produce and send you visit reports and property records
- To contact you about issues found at your property
- To coordinate authorised work with contractors
- To meet legal and record-keeping obligations
Who it is shared with
Personal information is not sold, rented or traded, ever. It is shared only in these circumstances:
- Contractors, where you have authorised work — and then only the information needed to perform the job. A plumber attending a leak receives the address, the access arrangement for that appointment and the relevant photographs. They do not receive your travel dates, your other contact details, or unrelated information about the property.
- People you have named, such as an emergency contact, a co-owner, an executor or an authorised agent.
- Service providers who process information on our behalf under contract.
- Where required by law, or to protect life or property in an emergency.
Where information is held
Form submissions from this site are delivered by email. Where any third-party service stores information outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. Specific providers will be identified here before the site begins operating.
Retention
Property records, visit reports and photographs are retained for as long as you are a customer and for a reasonable period afterwards, because the value of the record is its continuity. Access credentials are deleted at the end of an engagement. Enquiries that do not become engagements are retained only as long as needed to respond.
Your rights
You may request access to the personal information held about you, ask for corrections, withdraw consent, or ask for information to be deleted, subject to legal and contractual limits. Requests can be made through the contact page.
Changes
This notice will be updated as the service develops. Material changes will be reflected here.
